Solo Overnight Retreat

We welcome individuals who desire to make a self-guided retreat focused on spiritual growth and renewal for one night or several. Overnight retreatants are the guests of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, who live here at St. Mary-on-the-Lake.

A retreat offers a time and place to get away from the noise of our daily lives and busy world, to return to the source of inner peace and renewed commitment. It is an opportunity to refocus ourselves within divine loving embrace.

Accommodations
Guests enjoy a bedroom and common spaces in the Sisters’ dorms, meals from the Sisters’ dining room, mass in the chapel, and time to walk the grounds. Common spaces include a community room with couches, a TV, and a piano as well as a kitchenette / tea room with a refrigerator, sink, microwave, and dining table. Dorms are not air-conditioned.

Grounds
The eleven-acre grounds offer a prayer labyrinth, many trails including a Peace Path through the woods, a Meditation Garden, and a dock on Lake Washington. Retreatants may reflect in the chapel and read in the library.

Reservations
To schedule an overnight retreat, please fill out the linked form. We will review your inquiry for availability and compatibility and respond within three to five business days. Please look for a follow-up email with information about how to finalize your reservation.

Individual retreatants may stay for up to seven nights. Reservations must be secured at least one month prior to the retreat and can be made up to six months in advance.
