Fr. Ricky Manalo, CSP

Rev. Ricky Manalo, CSP, Ph.D. is a Paulist priest, internationally recognized liturgical composer, theologian, and author. A recipient of the 2018 Pastoral Musician of the Year Award from the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, Fr. Manalo is widely known for hymns such as Spirit and Grace, Beyond the Days, With One Voice, and Worthy Is the Lamb, many of which are sung throughout the global Church. His music has been featured at Papal liturgies of St. John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis, including the historic 2019 Mass celebrated by Pope Francis in Abu Dhabi.

Fr. Manalo holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, the Washington Theological Union, and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. A pioneer of Asian American Catholic liturgical music in the United States, he has authored award-winning books on liturgy and culture and serves as a theological consultor to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. A sought-after speaker and retreat leader, he has lectured, preached, and presented workshops across six continents. When not traveling, he resides at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New York City.
