Sisters Speak Out: Prayer & Reflection for Migrants and a Just Economy
June 24, 2025
Join the Sisters and Associates of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace as we gather in solidarity with the Sisters Speak Out public witness taking place in Washington, D.C.
This in-person and livestreamed prayer service will echo the spirit of the D.C. gathering, where Catholic Sisters and faith-based organizations across the country are expressing their commitment to the Gospel and to missions that call us to respond to looming budget cuts threatening to defund vital programs for the most vulnerable. Together, we lift up the urgent call for justice for migrants and for a just, compassionate economy.
Together, we will enter into a time of shared prayer, reflection, and contemplation. This is not just an event to watch—it is a call to engage. Participants who join us in person are invited to stay after the livestream to walk the labyrinth or spend time in quiet reflection on the grounds, listening deeply for how we are being called to take action in our own communities.
Even if you’re not able to attend, we invite you to take action in advance of the June 24 rally. Please join us in writing, emailing, or calling members of your congressional district to advocate for immigrants and a just economy.
- Here at St. Mary-on-the-Lake, we will be writing letters to be mailed or delivered by Friday, June 20.
- Here you can find Sample Letters.
- If your representative is not among those listed, feel free to adapt the samples for your district.

Let us come together in prayer and action—lifting our voices for dignity, justice, and compassion.
