What does it mean to truly flourish—in our lives, our communities, and our relationship with creation? Join Paul J. Schutz for an inspiring workshop that invites deep reflection on how inner transformation can nurture peace, justice, and hope for all creation. Drawing from his upcoming book, A Theology of Flourishing: The Fullness of Life for All Creation, Paul Schutz will guide us in exploring how disarming the heart—letting go of fear, prejudice, and indifference—can inspire compassionate action toward ecological and social justice.

As part of our Disarming Our Hearts: Becoming Peace series, this session will offer a meaningful space to explore barriers to peace and commit to fostering a more just and flourishing world. Together, we’ll reflect on how faith shapes our relationship with the earth and all creatures, how hope can serve as a catalyst for justice, and what it means to thrive as individuals and communities.

Disarming Our Hearts: Becoming Peace is an ongoing series that explores how we cultivate peace within ourselves and bring it into the world. Through diverse perspectives—spirituality, science, dialogue, and action—these sessions invite us to engage deeply with the principles of nonviolence, healing, and justice. Each workshop, presentation, or retreat will feature speakers from different backgrounds who offer unique insights into what it means to “be peace” in a way that transforms not only our own hearts but also our communities.

What To Bring: You’re welcome to bring a sack lunch, or enjoy a light lunch provided at the Center.
