International Day of Peace - A Day Retreat for Peace & Justice Seekers
With Sr. Simone Campbell
September 21, 2026
On the International Day of Peace, join Sr. Simone Campbell, SSS—Catholic sister, 2022 Presidential Medal of Freedom, attorney, and longtime advocate for justice—for a reflective day retreat grounded in hope, courage, and action.
In a time often marked by raucous political noise and deep division, Sr. Simone will invite participants into the practice of contemplative listening and the steady work of hope rooted in community. Drawing from Catholic social teaching, lived experience, and decades of public witness, she will help us reflect on the deep connection between inner peace and the call to faithful action in our world.
As we gather just weeks before the 2026 election, this retreat offers space to pause, listen deeply, and reconnect with what sustains us. Together we will explore how holiness in the twenty-first century calls us not only to prayerful reflection but also to meaningful engagement for justice and peace.
Through reflection, conversation, and contemplative pauses, the day is designed for anyone longing to live more fully into the work of peace—whether through advocacy, service, community leadership, or the quiet daily practice of compassion.
Come to rest, to listen, and to be renewed for the ongoing work of justice and peace.
What To Bring: You’re welcome to bring a sack lunch, or enjoy a light lunch provided at the Center.
