How a Saint and a Drunk Can Help You Navigate Life’s Big Decisions
With Stephanie Peirolo, CSJP-A
May 24, 2025
How do you make life’s big decisions? Do you rely on logic and pros and cons? Do you trust your gut? What about your values, beliefs, or dreams? How do you know when to listen to your intuition—and what might be blocking it?
This one-day retreat will introduce you to a discernment practice that serves as a lifelong compass for making intentional, meaningful choices.
Based on her book The Saint and the Drunk: A Guide to Making the Big Decisions in Your Life, author Stephanie Peirolo will explore the wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola (the Saint) and the 12-Step Higher Power concept (the Drunk), offering a flexible, accessible approach that welcomes all spiritual perspectives.
Through reflection, discussion, and practical tools, you will:
- Identify what you are discerning.
- Uncover cultural and family narratives that support or hinder decision-making.
- Learn how to listen to your body and intuition alongside your rational mind.
- Develop a personal discernment practice that fits your life.
This retreat is free and open to all, with a special welcome to those who consider themselves “spiritual but not religious.”
This program is offered at no cost, as are all our programs, thanks to the generosity of those who support our ministry. Donations are greatly appreciated to help us continue offering meaningful experiences to the community.
