Art as Prayer: A Self-Guided Solo Day or Half-Day Retreat

We warmly invite you to experience a quiet, self-guided Art as Prayer retreat. Whether you choose a full day or half day, this retreat offers spacious time for reflection, creativity, and rest.

This experience invites you to engage art not as performance or technique, but as prayer — a way of listening, noticing, and responding through color, line, texture, and form. No artistic experience is needed. The focus is not on creating something “good,” but on being present to the process.

A private area will be reserved for your retreat, where you’ll find all the art materials and written prompts needed for the day. The retreat is fully self-guided, allowing you to move at your own pace, alternating between creative time, silence, journaling, and rest.

You are also welcome to explore our peaceful 11-acre grounds, including our Peace Labyrinth, Peace Path through the woods, Meditation Garden, Virgin Mary’s Grotto, and dock overlooking Lake Washington. You may spend time in quiet reflection in the chapel, find a comfortable place outdoors, settle into one of the many cozy spaces throughout the Center.

While meals are not provided, you are welcome to bring your own food or order delivery from one of the many nearby restaurants. A refrigerator and microwave are also available for your use during your retreat.

Kindly Note: Because of the personalized setup and materials prepared for each Art as Prayer retreat, a pre-paid donation is required to confirm your reservation. Your contribution helps us thoughtfully prepare the space and continue offering meaningful experiences at the Peace & Spirituality Center.
