Advent Reflection Days
Every year during Advent, we gather for a day of reflection and invite participants to slow down, step away from the demands of everyday life, and make space for prayer, renewal, and deeper attention. While these days are rooted in the Christian liturgical calendar, each retreat is intentionally designed around themes that speak to the wider human experience.

This year, are delighted to welcome Shemaiah González to lead our upcoming Advent Reflection Day. A writer with degrees in English Literature, Intercultural Ministry, and Creative Non-Fiction, Shemaiah thrives at the place where storytelling, art, faith, and the human experience meet. Her stories have traveled far — even reaching Pope Francis, who selected her reflection on her college professor for his 2018 book Sharing the Wisdom of Time.

Saturday, December 5, 2026 | 10:00am to 3:30pm

This year, Shemaiah will guide us through “The Christ-Haunted Christmas Carol”, a reflection that draws together elements of Dickens’ beloved story and the scriptural threads that echo its themes. Through this lens, we will explore how literature, faith, and the human longing for transformation meet in surprising and hope-filled ways. Shemaiah has shared that her own heart is singing as she talks through this theme with friends — and we are grateful to enter that joy with her.

Program Donation
While there is no required donation to participate in this event, we suggest a contribution of $20 to help support this program and others like it. Please contribute whatever feels right for you—more if you are able, less if that is what works for you, or nothing at all. Your presence matters most, and no one will be turned away.
Every contribution helps us continue offering meaningful, mission-aligned experiences to our community. Thank you for being part of it!
